My health used to be a bit like a game of Russian roulette. I knew I would get unwell sometimes, I just never knew when sickness would strike.
Nor did I know how to maintain my health or prevent dis-ease from arising.
Discovering the world of Eastern Medicine was a revelation because it gave me the tools I needed to better manage my own health, especially stress.
I could never have foreseen that these tools would become so valuable to me (and my clients) over the last couple of years. Many of us are experiencing the effects of long-term stress and suddenly finding ourselves ill equipped to manage the impact on our physical and mental health.
From experiencing burnout, moving to India and then living through a pandemic, Shiatsu and Reiki have become as intrinsic to my life as the food I eat and the air I breathe.
I’ve squeezed, pressed, shaken, stretched and visualised my way through all kinds of challenges. By inviting in the natural healing energies of heaven and earth, I can cultivate and strengthen by own energy.
It would now be inconceivable to imagine a future without a regular dose of Shiatsu, Reiki meditations with healing energy frequencies, and Qi Gong ‘forms’ that help to keep the Ki (lifeforce energy) flowing.
Shiatsu for The Journey Ahead
Whatever you may face in the months and years ahead, this new series will support you with using Eastern Medicine to guide and support you with gentle and accessible practices for better self-care.
By thumbing, palming and applying pressing to areas of your body (acupressure), you can unlock areas of stuck energy, bring strength to areas of weakness and create warmth to areas feeling cold or empty.
Never has there been a time when so many of us are in need of new practices that we can learn quickly and easily to give us a boost of vitality, and share with others, too.
I believe this starts with taking back our power – our opportunity to stand in our sovereignty and choose what is right for us.
Within this automomy we can discover practices from Eastern Medicine, and try them for ourselves from the comfort of our home or workspace.
Prevention is the name of the game, keeping well so that sickness doesn’t take hold. No luck required.
Keep following the Go Slow Friday Letters throughout December for guidance to support you, whether you’re experiencing end of year anxiety, or Christmas party overwhelm. Shiatsu for The Journey Ahead has you covered.
“Uh uh. I know what you’re thinking. “Did he press six acupressure points or only five?” Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is Shiatsu, the most powerful ancient healing therapy in the world that can wipe away stress and anxiety like nothing else, you’ve gotta ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well, do ya, punk?”
