Preparing for your Distance Shiatsu Session

An hour of downtime in our hectic world is a rare thing! This is your invitation to explore moments of stillness and experience the healing power of shiatsu energy.

I will ring you at the agreed time to open the session, and guide you into the session. We will stay connected throughout and there will be time at the start and end for discussion.

I want you to get as much from the session as you can, so please read the following guidance.

  1. If possible, choose a space where you are unlikely to be distracted – by other people, neighbours, outside noise, pets, traffic. If you live with others, let them know that you would appreciate some quiet time throughout your session!
  2. An eye mask might help to remove visual distractions.
  3. Turn your phone notifications to silent.
  4. Wear adequate clothing and socks – some people feel cold when lying still for a period of time.
  5. Use cushions and props eg under the knees to support your lower back.
  6. Avoid eating or drinking any stimulants at least two hours prior to your session.
  7. Drink plenty of water afterwards.

About Me

I founded SJA Holistics to help people get well, feel great, and stay well using the power of practices derived from Eastern Medicine including Shiatsu, Reiki, Acupressure and Qi Gong.

For over a decade I’ve worked with Ki and have first-hand experience of how energy- and body-work can lead to positive health. Working with the energy body as well as the physical can bring profound changes to mental, emotional and physical issues.

After completing three years of study for the Professional Shiatsu Diploma, I honed my experience working voluntarily for six months in a national UK charity giving Shiatsu to people recovering from substance misuse.

It is my mission to help you recognise your own self-healing ability and to empower you with the skills and knowledge you need to dramatically improve your self-care.
