About Sarah
Sarah is a certified Zen Shiatsu and Usui Reiki Practitioner and has been practising energy healing for more than a decade. Her clients are typically people seeking effective solutions to relieve stress, anxiety and addictive behaviours such as burnout (over-work).
Ever since growing up on the shores of Lake Ontario in Canada, Sarah has always been fascinated by nature, water and the outdoors life. After graduating from the University of Bristol (UK) with a BSc in Geographical Sciences, she forged her career initially in London, UK where for 15 years she managed the reputation of clean technology companies. She worked in demanding and fast-paced agencies for high profile clients, and latterly as a self-employed PR consultant.
Throughout her career she has been dismayed by the number of her colleagues (and family members) living with low-to-medium level pain such as back and shoulder aches, poor indigestion and insomnia. Having tried and failed with Western Medicine, they didn’t know where else to turn.
Managing her own health was challenging at times. Practising Reiki and yoga helped to manage the stress associated with life changes and busy work periods. But she recognised that living “medium-well” was unacceptable.
Queuing for a yoga class in 2016 after another long day of work, she glanced at a poster advertising Shiatsu and curiosity led her to book a session. Wow – so many contradictions, in the feeling of lightness and buzzing, yet heaviness and deep relaxation. Soon after she committed to study for the three year Professional Zen Shiatsu Diploma.
Qualifications in Qi Gong and Shinrin Yoku (nature therapy) followed as well as voluntary work for ChangeGrowLive, a UK national social change charity. For six months she gave Shiatsu to staff members and people struggling with substance misuse problems.
Sarah was a voluntary Board Director for the Shiatsu Society UK to help raise the profile of Shiatsu. For almost two years, she also promoted the need for Practitioner self-care and encouraged the development of Grassroots Shiatsu.
Sarah firmly believes that our Ki (energy) can help to reconnect all our fractured parts that become separated by the stresses of modern life and hidden trauma. When we are ‘whole’ – connected in mind, body and spirit – we can make decisions with improved clarity, feel more in control and have the most positive impact on the world.
In January 2020 Sarah brought SJA Holistics overseas to beautiful Goa. The warm climate, living closer to water and the slower pace of life has helped her and her practice to thrive. She has also expanded her Distance work and now provides healing in Shiatsu and Reiki to people around the world.

Shiatsu
Shiatsu can effectively treat a range of musculo-skeletal and stress-related issues. Gentle pressure, stretches and rotations, applied mainly with the hands, help to stimulate the body’s own self-healing ability.
Reiki
Qi Gong
Qi Gong is a mind and movement practice that uses posture and intention to move and strengthen Ki (energy). The slow movements, stretches and deep breathing aim to promote relaxation so that Ki can flow in the body.
Distance Healing
Shiatsu and Reiki can both be received at a distance. The experience is very similar to an in-person session. Some people prefer to receive a session in the familiarity and comfort of their own space.
